Precision Health Platform is now five cities strong and has started to scale the city-wide surveillance for SARS-CoV-2 virus and other pathogens of interest like Influenza, Hepatitis in other cities of India. These serve as an Early Warning System for infectious disease outbreaks by detecting and tracking the pathogens from different wastewater sources within the city.
The platform’s goal is to scale up to 25 cities in India and Global South with extended capacities for wastewater-based epidemiology, using additional tools such as event-based surveillance, participatory surveillance, and geographical information systems.
The platform provides technical support to city partners by providing a digital backbone to the data systems by providing data analytics and data dashboards, digital tools, and communication toolkits. The platform supports the set-up and implementation with tools and resources, capacity enhancement through Playbook and SoPs, routine quality assurance, fund management, and hosting learning and sharing platforms.
